- To develop new remote sensing techniques and to test their applicability in the geoscience field
- To apply satellite remote sensing techniques in the Geosciences field. This includes remote sensing for geological mapping and minerals exploration, remote sensing for water resources and environmental assessments as well as research into remote sensing for geohazards assessment
- Participates in both statutory and commercial projects
